Paramara Dynasty

Paramara Dynasty
   An agnikula clan that established its prin-cipality at Mount Abu early in the ninth century. For a long time it was subordinate to the Pratiharas of Kanauj. It emerged as an in-dependent power under Vakpati II or Munja Raja (947-997). Raja Bhoja (1020-1060) was the most famous ruler of the dynasty. The Paramara dynasty was overthrown by 'Ala al-Din Khalji (1296-1316).
